Salua is a small place situated around 15/16 km far from Kharagpur railway station. The main attraction of Salua is a Buddhist monastery. Currently it's under renovation and the expansion work of the 2nd floor is going on. From Kharagpur station one can take a reserved Auto or Toto by paying something around Rs. 350/400. Alternatively break journey is also possible and the cost of transportation will come down drastically. From Kharagpur station you can take a share auto and get down at Prembajar, fare Rs. 20.00 and from prem bajar another shared auto/toto till the monastery by paying another Rs. 30.00 or else from Kharagpur station bus service is also available. The bus route which is Keshowari bound, that will drop you at the gate of thef monastery, fare Rs. 25.00 only. It's worth visiting the monastery.
