Ours is an independent three-bedroom house. We came back from a 10-day trip to Bangalore to find the house desperately in need of pest control. There were cockroaches, ticks, bugs, and all manner of critters everywhere. In 15 years, I had never seen an infestation so bad. I looked up some pest control companies online, and I was really impressed by Pest Squad's reviews. Mr Annaya is an engineer and has an impressive resume. He's been in this line of work for years and knows exactly what he's doing. I went to meet him at his office and arranged a consultation. He came over to the house and performed a thorough check. He said in addition to the the pests, we had a termite infestation. He pointed out the places where termite damage had already taken place and informed me about the importance of treating for termites every five years. We decided to treat for termites and pests. On the appointed day, the staff arrived and got to work. The termite treatment was done first. It involved drilling small holes into the structure and injecting the medicine. This treatment comes with a 5-year warranty. Future treatments will be less invasive because the holes already exist and the medicine will simply be injected in. The pest treatment was done next. This involved spraying medicine in key areas of the house. This treatment should be repeated every four months. Annaya said we could stay in the house if we wanted, but for health reasons and to allow the medicine to take full effect, we shut all the windows, locked up the house, and checked into a hotel for 24 hours. When we came back, it was obvious that the treatment had taken effect. We found dead critters everywhere. It's amazing how they make their homes in unlikely places like switchboards. Annaya has opened the switchboards and treated them as well. We had turned off the mains to prevent a possible short circuit. I'm glad we went in for such a thorough treatment even if it was bit expensive. Ours is a 3200-square-feet house, and the company charges per square feet. The whole affair came to about Rs 65,000 for the termite and pest treatment combined BUT for this amount, I now have a guarantee against termites for five years and against pests for one year. People spend on all kinds of unnecessary things, but they hesitate to pay for important things and then are surprised when they face problems. Rs 65,000 is a small price to pay for peace of mind from anxiety about structural damage and pests spreading diseases. Thank you Annaya for such a great service!
